3 Easy Ways to Share Galleries Online for Your Clients

So you just finished the final touches on processing your client’s gallery. Now it’s time to show them what you’ve created! But wait! What’s the best way to do that? If you plan on showcasing your gallery online there are a few options you have. And some are better than others. Keep reading to learn the choices you have for displaying your client galleries!

  1. Online Galleries

I’m going to start with this one because this is the system I use and recommend for displaying online galleries (doesn?t necessarily mean it?s the best one for you- but I love it)

If you are looking to display your client galleries online, Shootproof is a great option! Shootproof offers clean designs that are customizable to your brand and are very easy to use (for both you and your clients!) Shootproof gives you the option to allow clients to download high resolution images or order their prints right through you. You can use either their affiliated print labs or your own. Shootproof watermarks your images for you, allows you to set your own pricing and makes the ordering process seamless for both you and the client.

And guess what? You can use it for FREE <– (yup, you read that right)? You can sign up and use it as much as you want for no cost. This isn’t a trial period either! However, with this free version, you are limited in the amount of photos you can display. You can always upgrade later once you start filling up your calendar with photography clients and loading in the galleries:)

(On a side note, there are similar services out there like Shootproof, but this is the one I like best!)

  1. Email

This option I would not recommend. It seems easy and no cost, especially if you are just starting out, but there are many downfalls. First, viewing is not very seamless. The first impression of your gallery should be amazing, right? Emailing and pulling up one image at a time just doesn’t produce that amazing impression. Next, it is difficult to email high resolution images because of their size. This can result in either several emails having to be sent OR you?d have to lower the resolution of the photos. Both of those options—not very good. See below for another way you COULD email photos.

  1. Dropbox

If you really like the idea of emailing your client photos, but want a better way to do it, you could choose Dropbox. Just load the photos into Dropbox and email out a link to a folder through Dropbox. They make it pretty easy. This option keeps the high resolution and is pretty inexpensive (in many cases free) , but it doesn’t produce that WOW factor that an online gallery creates.

I used Dropbox when I was first starting out, but quickly found I needed to upgrade the online viewing experience for my clients.

( Want to give it a try? You can get a FREE account right here +500MBs of extra space!)

The choice is up to you! There isn’t a right or wrong answer to how you display your galleries online, but what works best for you. Give some of these a try and let me know in a comment what you think!
