Ahwatukee Festival of Lights Kick Off Party 2106
This past Saturday, April 30th was the Ahwatukee Beer and Wine Tasting kick off party for the Festival of Lights. The Festival of Lights is an organization created by residents which creates positive engagement in the Ahwatukee community. This signature event took place at Rawhide Wild West Town just South of Ahwatukee and welcomed more than 350+ guests. Guests were able to participate in wine and beer tasting as well as food sampling by numerous local vendors. In addition to the live entertainment throughout the evening, guests had the opportunity to bid on hundreds of items in the silent auction.

There were many fantastic local sponsors that helped make this fantastic community event possible. Some of the local food vendors that were present included, the Perfect Pear Bistro, Arrivederci, Yoasis, The Melting Pot, Florencia Pizza Bistro, Chic-Fil-A, Macayos and more! (Please let me know if I forgot to include you on this list and I will make sure to add it) The food was delicious paired next to all of the wine selections the bar had to offer.
Entertainment
The night rocked on with live music from local Arizona band, Tripwire. Talk about high energy, this band rocked the crowd with popular rock and roll hits from the 80’s, 90’s and beyond. My personal favorite was their cover of Van Halen’s “Jump”, which really got the crowd up and moving! Tripwire was on point that evening entertaining the crowd for hours.
Silent Auction
This evening was rounded up with the silent auction near the end of the evening. Guests were able to bid on hundreds of donated items. There were baskets donated by local shops and business owners, sports and pop rock memorabilia, gift certificates, vacations, and so much more. While I had my eye on a few of the items, I unfortunately was out bid. It was still a lot of fun to see what was offered and try my shot at some of the items.
Overall , the Beer and Wine tasting kick off party was definitely an event to come back to again next year- good food, drinks, entertainment and of course, a great community! Come check out the Holiday Kick off party on November 26th! I know I’ll be there with the whole family!
