Five (un-photography gear) Things To Keep In Your Camera Bag: The Friday Five List

Huh? Why would you keep things in your camera bag beside your gear?Because you’ll need them. Especially if you are shooting a child or a family. Trust me, having a few more items other than your camera lens and camera will come in quite handy. So what are a few un-photography gear things that should be in your bag? Here are the top five things you will probably need at some point that are NOT camera, lens or gear.

  1. Band-aids

Because, kids fall-a lot, and even if they don’t get scraped or you don’t see any blood, sometime just the mention of a band-aid will stop the tears, put them in a better mood and ready to take some great pictures!.

  1. A Puppet

Simple way to get their attention, and if you feel weird making funny noise or singing songs, this puppet can be a great alter ego;) Puppets can also be folded up and stored pretty easy in your camera bag, so they won’t take up much space!

  1. Wet Wipes

Runny noses, food on the face, a fall in the dirt. ?All curable with the magical wet wipe. Will save you a TON of time editing later on too- just sayin’.

  1. Lotion

A secret little tip for getting glowing skin. Put some on your child or subject right before the shot and it will give them instant glow- (no editing need!)

  1. Candy

….(or other small treats) Because if the kids do a great job- they should be rewarded, right;)
