Your Garage
Fantastic for open shade lighting and no need to clean it up (if yours is as messy as mine is 😉 Simply set your aperture wide (low f stop number) to blur out any mess! (You can see exactly how I shot portraits in my garage here!)

The side of a parking lot
Sounds weird, I know, but I have found myself seeing some of the coolest trees, bushes and flowers that are planted near the edges of parking lots. ( I actually shoot like this A LOT) Really pay attention to that next time you’re out and about. Below is a picture of a parking lot I pulled up in one day and the photo that I ended up taking at this exact location. See those purple flowers in the buses to the left. That’s where I placed my subject in the final image!

The produce section of a grocery store
Lots of gorgeous, bright colors from the entire rainbow and usually pretty well lit!

A Junkyard
Make sure to get permission first, but usually you can find a HUGE variety of colors, textures and unusual looking backgrounds to choose from!

A Nursery
No, not where babies are silly! But a plant and garden nursery! You could even check out your local Home Depot or Lowe’s nursery. It’s like a beautiful forest and garden all around you!
