Phoenix, Arizona Family and Child Photographer- “Why to Have Custom Portraits Taken Each Year”

THE IMPORTANCE OF PICTURES…BECAUSE TIME GOES BY SO FAST

Some of my most  favorite models to photograph are my own children (big surprise huh?).  I love to photograph them at different times, stages and moments in their lives, but I especially love to look back at the photos.  This is why photography is so important.  It is one way you can recall your memories.  Pictures help you remember yourself and your kids and what they looked like, what they liked to wear and those cute expressions they gave.  I know we all snap pictures on our phones, but a lot of times those get lost in the digital closet of our technology devices and we might not see them again when we upgrade our phone or trade in our old computer.  By scheduling a custom portrait session for your family or kids each year, you know you will have great photos to hold onto and you will be able to see the growth and beauty of your family over time.

Children's Photography at the japanesee Friendship Garden in downtown phoenixA few months ago, while I was very pregnant with my fourth child, I took my the youngest to  Downtown Phoenix to walk around with her and let her enjoy being the baby for a little while longer.  I took my camera with us and stopped at this spot to take a photo of her which I love.  That picture is below.  Well, a few days ago, I was cleaning out my digital closet and came across some old RAW files.  While looking through the pictures I saw some taken of her in the same location AND at the same time of year that I had completely forgotten about.  That is the photo on the top. These two photos were taken only about a year apart.  It is odd that they are both single shots of my youngest daughter since most of the time I have several of my kids in a photo at once.  It makes me excited for next spring when I can take her out in Phoenix again to the same spot and see her growth.  The top one was unedited when I found it, so it is now processed with my more current style, so I couldn’t really compare my growth as a photographer here, but I do love to look at the pictures and compare the growth of my daughter.Phoenix and Ahwatukee Family and Child PhotographerTo sum up, I am so happy that I have these photos. I do consciously set up a “session” with my kids each year to make sure that I have photos of them growing and changing, but realize I should really do it more often…and YOU should too!  Contact me or another one of your favorite photographers to schedule a custom family or child portrait session.  You will be so happy you did next year and the year after that and the year after that when you can look at them again and again.

What a beautiful set of photos. It is fun to see how the kids grow; not only for you, but for them. My children love to sit around the computer and look at all the old pictures I have of them on facebook. Now I just need to work on getting them printed!ReplyCancel
