One Year Portraits in Phoenix, AZ (+ Family Shots Too!)

This photo session was centered around the birthday girl! One year portraits are a must! They are so fun and kids at this age can really give you all kinds of cute expressions.  PLUS, they are hitting so many milestones, you can capture them standing, crawling, sitting up (and for some even taking their first steps!)  And with all child sessions I shoot, if the rest of the family want to jump in a few photos too- the more the merrier;)  Check out more child sessions that include a couple with the family too right here!

Location: Manistee Ranch Park

This is a favorite family and child photo location that is pretty close to Phoenix.  Located in Glendale, this spot has a different look from the typical desert scenery you find in the Phoenix Valley.  This park is part of an old farm, with old equipment close by, historic buildings, a small orchard and lost of green grass.  I’ve found that the trees and flowers are much fuller and greener during the summer months. While a great choice for you photo locations, this spot can get very crowed during the weekends, especially in the cooler months.

Outfits

While I have no restrictions on the number of outfit changes you can make during your one hour session, I have found that  a maximum of two seems to be the best number. (If any)  For child sessions, you know your child best and if they can tolerate changing clothes.  If you do want multiple outfits, make sure they are easy to get on and off.  Also note, that not all locations have bathrooms or a private changing area.  Ask me about this first!  The more times you change yourself or your child, the less shooting time, so keep this in mind.
