Phoenix Family and Child Photography Blog Circle- “My Town: Ahwatukee”

Being a photographer in Phoenix, I tend to get a lot of my inspiration for pictures from the desert.  If you have followed my portfolio or Facebook page, you probably have noticed that many of my photos contain mountains, setting suns and the Phoenix landscape.  For this month, the theme for the blog circle that I participate in with a group of fantastically talented photographers from all over the United States, was “My Town”. ( If you are not sure what a blog circle is you can look at last months photographer’s blog circle here.)

Ahwatukee, Chandler, Phoenix Scottsdale Family and Child Photography at Pecos Park Being from Ahwatukee, with South Mountain literally in my backyard, I was inclined to photograph just what I usually do- the desert.  Instead I decided to do something a little different.  I headed out to one of my favorite Ahwatukee parks to try to take some pictures of the Phoenix not characterized my the mountains.  I tried to focus on the detail of Ahwatukee and the beauty beyond the mountains.  I was looking for color and scenery that was different than my typical desert pictures.
Ahwatukee, Chandler, Phoenix Scottsdale Family and Child Photography at Pecos ParkWhat was interesting about this series of pictures was that my light source, the sun, was rapidly changing on this morning.  I went from shooting in complete cloudiness to partial clouds to full sun in just a few clicks of the shutter.  Even though all three photos are edited the same way, you can notice the subtle changes caused by the ever changing light.

Beautiful little girls! Love that they’re in their play clothes with rosy cheeks and messy hair – looks like they’ve been playing in the garden! So adorable.ReplyCancel
