Phoenix Family and Newborn Photographer: ” And Baby Makes 4!”

Session Type

This family photo session was a special one because it was welcoming the newest member to the family! This session was a combination family and newborn session, focusing on the baby as part of the new family.  While I do not  shoot posed, studio type newborn sessions, I do schedule sessions that includes the new baby and the family together at one of many beautiful outdoor locations.Family photo looking at their newborn baby outdoors in the desert near Phoenix, ArizonaMom with her newborn in a family photo in Phoneix

Location

This family wanted to capture the true feeling of Phoenix in there photos.  To do this we went to the Hole in the Rock at Papago Park, which is an iconic area to Phoenix and definitely showcases the true desert feel of out west.  This location typically requires a mild amount of hiking, but because ewe had the new baby along for the hike, we choose to stay at the base of the mountain which still has some beautiful views!Family portrait with the newborn baby in the desert

If you are scheduling a family newborn session there are a few things to be prepared for.  First, make sure the baby is warm, cozy and comfortable.  Try to have them fed before the session, but we will be working on baby’s schedule, so if they need to stop to eat or are in need of a diaper change, we will all be patient!

Newborns typically cannot tolerate multiple outfit changes.  So plan on just one or a small diaper cover.  Having blankets to wrap them in is also a good option.  The session will not have posed bay shots, you will be holding your newborn for many of the photos.  Some small props, crates or baskets are available for a few individual shots on request.Close up newborn photo in a crate taken in the desert in PhoenixFamily newborn photo taken at Papgo Park by the mountians
